ALL ABOUT PAMELA
Raised in and out of the foster care system until the age of 6, Pamela found a permanent loving home with Arthur and Clara Franklin. It was at this point in Pamela’s life, she realized her potential, resiliency, integrity and purpose. Thru the support and love of her new family, she discovered that family is not always blood but a common thread fueled by love which transcends from family to community. Those connections in Pamela’s life have inspired her to make a meaningful difference in her community.
For Seven years, Pamela worked within a communications company, personally addressing the needs of its clients. She tirelessly worked up to 10 hours daily to confirm every issue was resolved to meet the needs of her company and the clients she served. Subsequently, Pamela had a desire to transfer her skills from the corporate world to the public sector to serve her community.
Pamela has served her community as President of the Bronx High School Federation, 2nd Vice President of CPAC, Co-President of the Citywide Council on Special Educationas an elected official, the Citywide Council on Special Education’s Appointee to the Citywide Council of High Schools and a PTA President at a local Public District Community School.
Pamela is happily married to Victor Martinez. Together, Victor and Pamela have 7 children all raised in the Bronx. Their oldest son completed a 5 year tour with the US Coast Guard and has recently joined the Air National Guard Reserve, her oldest daughter is a graduate of Spelman College, a son who is a Pace University graduate, one in college, another in high school, and middle schooler. Her goal for herself and her family is to make lasting relationships, show respect for human dignity, and work towards delivering social equity. Pamela’s continued commitment to the Bronx and all of New York State is to ensure every New Yorker is heard, regardless of their circumstance.
